admin

Following last week’s turmoil that virtually turned the 2022 college football season upside down, the Top 25 teams probably need to be a little more cautious when they’re big favorites in Week 3. Top-tier non-conference games will be played, but there’s still a lot that could be shaken before league play begins in earnest and wraps up September.

The most notable Saturday was No. 13 Miami’s nightcap at No. 24 Texas A&M against the Aggies, who had just suffered the aforementioned upset loss to Appalachian State. The Hurricanes are trying to flex under first-year Mario Cristóbal as his coach, while Aggies Jimbo his Fischer coach is looking to keep the seats from getting too hot. Speaking of Cristobal, Cristobal’s former team is featured in other Top 25 showdowns, as Oregon State No. 25 hosts his BYU No. 12. The Cougars are feeling themselves after a big home win over Baylor, but the Ducks are looking to bounce back from a rough showing against Georgia in Week 1.

Also, No. 6 Oklahoma welcomes rival Nebraska, who has just fired Cornhuskers coach Scott Frost, newly created No. 1 Georgia visits SEC East rival South Carolina, and Auburn welcomes CBS. Games featured in. In other words, there’s no shortage of stories to chew on before Saturday goes live.

No. 6 Oklahoma vs. Nebraska

Featured game | | Nebraska Cornhuskers vs. Oklahoma Sooners

noon | fox, Hubo TV (Try it for free) – Oklahoma faces no Power Five opponents under new coach Brent Venables. While Nebraska has struggled, a leap in talent and new coaching directions have made this game a little trickier than early results might suggest: last season, an underdog Nebraska team dominated Oklahoma’s The team and he were within seven points. The match will be held in Lincoln, Nebraska, so don’t expect it to get out of hand. Pick: Nebraska (+11.5) — Shehan Jeyaraja

#1 Georgia in South Carolina

Featured game | | South Carolina Gamecocks vs. Georgia Bulldogs

noon | ESPN, Hubo TV (Try it for free) – South Carolina’s predicament on the offensive line spells havoc in this matchup. The Gamecocks have struggled to protect his Spencer Rattler at quarterback and haven’t shown much of a rushing offense throughout the two games. Georgia’s defense looks barely down after five players were selected in the first round of the 2022 NFL Draft, and the Bulldogs may be able to keep South Carolina from reaching double digits. Coach Kirby Smart is unlikely to outperform his esteemed former assistant, but Georgia should have cover even if the offense keeps things in check. Forecast: Georgia (-24.5) — David Cobb

No. 22 Pennsylvania State University at Auburn

Featured game | | Auburn Tigers vs. Pennsylvania State Nittany Lions

3:30 p.m. | CBS, CBSSports.com, CBS Sports App Penn State had the bigger win of the two teams, but the Nittany Lions didn’t look good on the road trip against Purdue. As a result, I’m not ready to trust Nittany Lyons as a lord favorite against Auburn, even if Auburn isn’t very confident. It’s hard to imagine either team standing too far from their opponent because of the . Prediction: Auburn (+3) — Tom Forneri

No. 12 BYU at No. 25 Oregon

Featured game | | Oregon Ducks vs. BYU Cougars

3:30 PM | Fox, Hubo TV (Try it for free) – Simply put, BYU outperforms Oregon in the overwhelming majority of position groups. Quarterback Jaren Hall flashed his NFL arm in an upset by Baylor last weekend, despite missing his target in the top two receiving. The offensive and defensive lines have been excellent for most of the last three seasons. The secondary played at a high level while Christopher Brooks slotted in well. Conversely, Oregon is 201-90, with him 1-4 in his last five FBS matchups. With wins over Baylor, USC, Utah, and other his five power foes over the past year, don’t expect the Cougars to be threatened by Oregon recruits his star. Forecast: BYU (+3.5) — Jeyaraja

21 Texas UTSA

Featured game | | Texas Longhorns vs. UTSA Roadrunners

8pm | Longhorn Network — This is a potential trap game for the Longhorns, but I think they will win. But given their Hudson card status, I would be hesitant to take Texas as his 12.5-point favorite. Cards are at their best when playing with their legs, and an ankle injury could limit that part of his game.Besides, Jeff his trailer’s team is a big 12 Has plenty of motivation for his one of the flagship agencies. Texas wins, but the Roadrunners cover. Forecast: UTSA (+12.5) — Austin Nivison

No. 13 Miami vs No. 24 Texas A&M

Featured game | | Texas A&M Aggies vs. Miami (FL) Hurricanes

9 p.m. | ESPN, Hubo TV (Try it for free) – This becomes a quarterback fight and the winner of that fight is clear. Tyler Van Dyke is more talented than Haynes King, with better protection and more weapons. The game would be played in his 30s, as the Van Dyke and Hurricanes offenses would set the tempo. Texas A&M can’t hang up. Texas A&M’s multiple mistakes in the second half not only give Miami cover, but a straight-up victory. Forecast: Miami (+5.5) — Barret Sally
