It’s no exaggeration to say that I’ve never met more people than Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. During her 70-year reign, the world’s most traveled monarch has visited her more than 100 countries around the world as state guests, from Thailand and Bahrain to Fiji and Turkey. It is not uncommon to host the most influential people in the world.
While some of us may have had the chance to spot the Queen from a distance at a celebratory event (thanks to her brightly colored suit set and glorious hat), having a tee-a-tee with Her Majesty was , a lucky few. That said, the Queen’s openness and contemporary sensibility meant she shook hands with more than her fellow royals and political leaders. I met some of the iconic people.
